"Evolution of Overdrive"

Last week in Wednesday we danced "Overdrive". The show gone really well and I'm happy about my dance because I think I danced really good. After watching the show I can see it that my technique is improving, my moves are clearly than before and also my pirouettes are getting better.

The things which I found difficult were dancing barefoot.Because I couldn't do properly some pirouettes ,specially in the end of the second section when I was turning around before the jump.Also what I found difficult was catching the balance, after the turns. Now when I see the difference between dancing barefoot and dancing with jazz shoes so is much easier to dance with shoes than without them.

"Evolution of Overdrive"


       Last week in Wednesday 3rd of November my class danced "Overdrive". This was a part of our assignment for contemporary dance lesson. “Overdrive is one of a series of pieces I made responding to the excitement and energy of pure rhythm. Rainbow Bandit (1977), Strong Language (1987) and Roughcut (1990) were all such pieces, riding swiftly along on a great tide of repeated rhythms. The rhythms in Overdrive are indeed quite relentless, and the dancers need to count them exactly, leaping from one melodic fragment to another”.
       The Overdrive which we’ve done was little be different because between two big section we put our group duets which made this dance more interesting from the original. Also in the end of the second section we repeated half of first section to the end with nicely and soft move.
      In my opinion the show gone really well because everyone danced the best as could and before the show was working really hard. Also what helped us a lot was the group work where everyone were helping each other with the movements. 
     My favourite moments in Overdrive are when we did butterfly, different turns and jump in the end of second section. If someone ask what I like the most from Overdrive I would say our duets and second section because this section was more energetic than the first one. Also our duets I think made us feel like proud because this was really our work and we didn’t copy whole of someone work. Also that was really nice feeling that we could diverse someone work.
      Also I can say that I'm happy about my dance because I think I danced really good. After watching the show I can see it that my technique is improving; for example my moves are clearly than before, my legs are stronger and also my pirouettes are getting better. At the lessons I tried be focused all the time and listen teacher comments. If something I couldn’t do properly at the lessons I was practising after college at home or in the park. Also I was trying to do not do the same mistakes than before.
     The thing which I found difficult was dancing barefoot. Because I couldn't do properly some pirouettes, especially in the end of the second section before the jump. Also what I found difficult was catching the balance, after the turns. Now when I see the difference between dancing barefoot and dancing with jazz shoes, so is much easier to dance with shoes than without them. Summarizing my utterance I just can’t dance barefoot.
If I want to improve my dancing skills I have to really work hard and do a lot of stretching to make angles nicer. Now everyone have to build yours body to make them stronger and flexible .And also I have to keep practising and just enjoy dance.

"My character in Matilda show"

Today at the lesson our exercise were to research about Matilda's friends and find ourselves in this show.I found some information in the internet and from film -"Matilda". Now I know more about Matilda and about her world.

After watching the film I think I would like to be Matilda because she is similar to me and I think I could be find myselfe in this role. I like Matilda because she is very smart like for girl in her age and also she is very friendly person. At school she is not scary that much of Miss Trunchbull like the rest of children ,also she is trying to change school for better and get rid of Miss Trunchbull.If I will not get this role I will play the student witch is with similar character like Matilda and also my character will be very energetic as well.

"Farewell speech"

In Friday lesson we learned  how to act farewell speech. In this time it was harder to act this because from the begining of year we acted just comedy and happy things. Now our exercise is to learn the part of this text and try to act the best as we can do because the next week our teacher will be recording us.

"Characterisation walking lesson"

In this lesson we were exploring the idea of using the way we walk to develop character and feeling. By introducing variation of speed ,direction and weight we can discover how the way in which we move around can influence our mood and create different characteristics.

We were exploring 8 different ways in which we can walk and move,after each we will record ow it made us feel and what kind of persons may move/walk in this way. Also we had to answer for tis questions:

* What mood would you be in if you were walking in this way?
* What emotions might you be feeling at the time?
* What kind of person might walk in this way the majority of the time?
* Do you know anyone who walks like this?
* Is there a character from a play or film what walks like this?

1)DIRECT ,FAST AND LIGHT:
When I walked direct,fast and light I felt like I have to quickly go somewhere because I'm late already.The person who walk like this is my mum.

2)DIRECT,FAST AND HEAVY:
When I walked like this I felt angry at something.
I dont know any person who walk like this.

3)DIRECT,SLOW AND LIGHT:
When I walked like this I felt very lazy.
The person who walk like this is my cousin.

The classmate from my class.

It was good and interesting exercise in that day because we could feel the different feelings of people who walks in that ways.I really enjoyed this lesson.

"Musicals"

In this week at singing lessons we sang songs from different musicals because we will mix them together and put to one big show which will be in January.Now everyone have to work hard because is many work to do in short time.

"Waltz"

Last Thursday we lernt how to dance Waltz. In tis lesson was really funny. Everyone were doing wrong steps and didnt know when have to turn head while we were changing direction but in the end of the lesson was much better then at the beginning.

My comments about Waltz Dance:
 I like this dance because finally we have one dance where everyone is dance in pair. This is not eassy dance but not too hard . For me hard thing was moment when we have to change head and sometimes steps also when we were changing partners because everyone is dance in different level but one more lesson and will be alright.

"LSC'S GOT TALENT"

Hi today I would like to tell you little be about "LSC'S GOT TALENT" which has audition in 6th and 13th of November 2014 at 4.30.
 In our college very often techears make different audiotion ,specially to musical shows to make us more creative,original and exspressive people/artists than we are now.
In this time they proposed "LSC'S GOT TALENT" which is really next ,good experience for us . I can tell you that I'm signed for this audition and I'm got it in. I performed song Alicia's Kyes -"No one".

"Street Dance" ;D

This time I would like to share with you  about Street Dance lesson which take a place every  Wednesday at 2.30 in our college. I really enjoy this lesson and also you can see that the teacher is in very good relationship with students.

Unit 45: "Developing Contemporary Dance Technique"

*In this week we had assignment from Contemporary Dance Technique. We had to dance 2 big choreographic  and group duets which had many movements, different direction,  steps like kicks,pirouettes etc.


 I'm sorry but in this time I'm not going to show you  the video because no one recorded:/

*My opinion and rating about dance:


1 – Excellent       2- Very Good     3 -Good      4 -Satisfactory      5 - Needs Improvement


Unit Content:

1)Application: attendance and punctuality; appropriate presentation; focus; commitment; responde to direction and correction; self discipline.
My rating: 2 ; I gave it "2" to myself because I think I'm always attends at the lesson to make this project perfect . Also I'm punctual at the lesson to do not miss anything. I'm focus at lesson and I listen teacher advices too.
2)Physical skills: posture; alignment; co-ordination; placement of feet; participation of whole body; awareness of centre; extension; elevation; flexibility
My rating: 3; I gave it "3" to myself because I think I'm not bad with movements but still I have to work a lot ,specially with getting balance and make my moves clearly .

3)Movement memory: accuracy of demonstration of technical exercises and phrases; centre; floor and travelling; short set study.
My rating:3 ; I gave it "3" to myself because still I have to work out with technic to be better and better. The good think is that some of the choreography I learn really quickly what help me later to remember them in the class.
4)Interpretative skills:  Focus; projection; energy; dynamics; quality; timing; musicality; use of breath; gravity; suspension; facial expression.
My rating:2 ; I gave it "2" to myself because I think I'm putting  a lot of energy in dance (because I love dance). Also I don't have problem with timing or musicality.
